The Shenzhen government entrusts CUHK (SZ) with the funds and resources to establish the Shenzhen Finance Institute. The institute aims to provide a globally recognized center in the field of economics and finance that nurtures innovative talents; cultivates an advanced global research base; builds international academic exchange platforms; and serves as a strategic planning think-tank.
Shenzhen Finance Institute CUHK (SZ) currently offers education programs that include the Master of Science in Finance, Master of Science in Economics, Master of Science in Accounting, Master of Science in Data Science and Executive Education. In the future, it will admit and foster the master and doctoral students in more relevant fields of economics and finance.
Master of Science in Finance (full-time)
The Master of Science in Finance program provides financial principles, quantitative analysis capabilities and comprehensive professional training combined with practical applications.The course is taught in English. Students may choose full-time (including advanced financial research) or part-time study.Using a unique way of academic mentor plus industry mentor, we not only help students improve their academic theory, but also keep up with the latest developments and changes in the market and understand the most cutting-edge information.
After graduation, students are expected to acquire various skills and methods widely used in the financial industry, which lays a solid foundation for them to enter the financial industry and become competitive professionals in financial markets of China and the world.
Master of Science in Finance (part-time)
The Master of Science in Finance program (part-time) provides financial principles, quantitative analysis capabilities and comprehensive professional training combined with practical applications, contributing to the further development of on-the-job people in the financial and related fields such as securities, banking, financial management, and consulting.
After graduation, students are expected to acquire various skills and methods widely used in the financial industry, which lays a solid foundation for them to enter the financial industry and become competitive high-end and innovative talents in financial markets of China and the world.
Master of Science in Economics
The Master of Science in Economics program provides financial principles, quantitative analysis capabilities and comprehensive professional training combined with practical applications, helping students make a well-preparation for career development in economic fields such as private financial institutions, government departments such as central banks, international trading companies, stock exchanges, and consulting agencies.After graduation, students are expected to acquire the skills and methods widely used in a number of financial sectors, like macroeconomic analysis of the financial industry, policy analysis of government departments, and quantitative analysis of the consulting industry, laying a solid foundation for them to enter the economic area and become competitive professionals in China and even the world.
Master of Science in Accounting
The Master of Science in Accounting program aims to cultivate multi-disciplinary talents with global perspective, systematic knowledge of accounting-related fields, analytical and practical application capabilities, and in-depth understanding of the China's reform in capital market operations. Focusing on the academic and practical combination, this course provides a tailor-made international environment and a broad employment prospect for students (accounting or non-accounting majors) who are interested in the accounting, finance, banking, consulting and management.The course is taught in English under a 24-month system.
Master of Science in Data Science
Through this 1.5-year Master of Science in Data Science program, graduates will acquire the cutting-edge big data processing technologies and learn the frontier theories and methods that underpin big data technologies.In addition, students, before graduation, will participate in an actual research project to show their innovative methods and applications in the fields of business, government, security, medicine, biology, natural sciences and environment by using skillfully the basic concepts of data science.
